Has financial compensation been provided for property damage?

Yes. Economic compensation for property damage is governed by Supreme Decree No. 081-2007-EM, which establishes that compensation must be based on objective, determinable and individualizable damages.

In that sense, Petroperú, with the evaluation of an accredited expert, has granted compensation to the fishermen whose boats, gear and work clothes were affected by the event. Compliance with these measures has been duly reported to Osinergmin.

Regarding compensation for non-pecuniary damages, Petroperú reiterates that such claims must be managed through the corresponding legal channels.
